Teaching on Befundo

You teach the classes; the business you belong to handles pricing and billing. This covers everything on your side of that line.

Joining a business

How you get access to a class in the first place.

1
Accept your invitation
A business invites you by email. Sign up (or sign in) with that address and the invitation is waiting under Account → Invitations. That notification can't be switched off, so it won't get lost among everything else.
2
You keep one account
The same account can teach for several businesses, take classes itself, and be a parent. Nothing needs separating.
3
Find your classes
My classes shows the classes assigned to you — only those, not everything the business runs. Your dashboard, calendar and Today/This week all follow the same rule.

Your instructor page

The page families read before deciding.

1
Build it under Teaching
Teaching → Public page is yours, not the business's. A bio, subjects, experience and photos. It stays with you if you move between businesses.
2
Publish when you're ready
It isn't visible until you publish it. Once live it's linked from the classes you teach.
3
Families can rate you
Only families who attended a class you taught. You can reply once to each review.

Running a class

The class board is where the class lives.

1
Or just ask
Ask Befundo in the bottom-right corner answers questions about the classes you teach and can propose a change for you to approve — it never makes one itself. It's part of the AI features on Growth and above. See the Ask Befundo guide.
2
Post on the board
Anyone in the class can start a topic and reply — you, students and their parents. You can restrict who starts topics, and you can hide a message that shouldn't be there. Hiding leaves a tombstone and can be undone; only the author can actually delete their own words.
3
Share resources
Links or uploaded files — PDF, image or MP4, up to 50 MB. Post them to the class, or to a specific meeting so a family looking for “the handout from the 14th” finds it there.
4
Set activities
Assignments, forms, permission slips, reminders and payment nudges. Anything that collects answers tracks who still owes one. A parent with two children in the class owes two responses, not one.
5
Write the course content
The syllabus builder is on the class board as well as the business page, because the business area is admin-only — this is the route by which the person teaching a class can write what it covers.

Meetings and attendance

Each time the class actually meets.

1
Your meetings are already there
They come from the class schedule, provided the business has set its time zone. If the meetings card is empty and you're staff, the page tells you why.
2
Take the register
Open a meeting and mark each student present, late or absent. For an online meeting the video call pre-fills it and shows how long each person was on the call; you can change anything. Families see only their own children.
3
Write up what you covered
A sentence or two on the meeting page. Families are notified the first time you write notes on a meeting, and it shows on the class page underneath that meeting.
4
Add a one-off meeting
A catch-up or an extra rehearsal. Tick Meet online to give it a video room even if the class normally meets in person.
5
Cancel or move one
Both tell the whole class, parents included. Cancelling takes an optional reason and can be undone — the meeting stays visible, marked cancelled, so families know not to turn up.

Live sessions

For classes that meet online.

1
Open the room early
You can enter your own room at any time to check your camera and set up. That doesn't tell anyone the class has started.
2
Press Start when you're ready
Families immediately see “Live now” and a Join button, and get a notification with a link into the room. Pressing it twice doesn't send two.
3
Inside the room
Video, a whiteboard and a chat panel. Chat is saved against the session. As staff you can remove participants.
4
End the session
A started session stays open until you end it, so overrunning won't lock anyone out. If you forget, it closes after twelve hours.
5
If recaps are on
The session is transcribed and turned into a written summary you review and edit before families see it. Nothing is published automatically, no audio or video is kept, and families who haven't consented can't join.

What you can't do

The line between teaching and running the business.

1
The business area is admin-only
Pricing, billing, the landing page, the full student list and the payments ledger belong to the owner. Anything instructor-facing lives on the class board instead.
2
Editing a class needs the assignment
You can edit a class you're assigned to. A colleague's class you can post on, but not re-price or re-list.
3
Money isn't yours to see
You can see what a class charges — it's on the listing — but the business's book is the owner's. See the owner's guide.
