When to let a child quit

Every family lands on this eventually. Six weeks in, the enthusiasm is gone, and Tuesday has become an argument.
The instinct to make them finish the term isn't wrong. Learning that things get boring in the middle and good again afterwards is genuinely valuable. But it's a principle, not a rule, and the difference matters.
The quick answer
- Find out what it really is: the hard bit, a person, the timing, or genuinely not for them.
- Ask "what's the worst part?" rather than "do you want to keep going?"
- Decide calmly, in a week when nothing has just gone wrong.
- On Befundo, a started class needs the business's agreement to leave. You ask; they answer.
What it usually is
Wanting to quit is usually about one of four things, and only one of them is the activity:
- The hard bit. Every skill has a plateau where effort stops producing visible progress. It passes, and pushing through it is the lesson.
- A person. Another child, or occasionally the teacher. This doesn't pass on its own.
- The time. A class right after school on the day they have PE is a different class from the same one on Saturday.
- Genuinely not for them. Which is fine, and worth finding out early.
"What's the worst part?" gets you closer than "do you want to keep going?" The second invites a mood; the first invites a fact.
A reasonable compromise
Finish the block you've committed to, and decide about the next one calmly. That respects the principle without turning it into a rule that outlives its usefulness.
If you do stop
- Open the class from your child's page.
- Before the class has started, press Withdraw under Registered. The place goes straight away.
- Once it has started, press Ask to withdraw, add a reason if you'd like, and press Send request.
The business agrees or keeps the place. Until they answer, your child keeps it. Attendance, work and payments already recorded stay on the record either way.

Tell the provider why, in the reason box or a message. Most of them would rather know, and a few will fix the thing you mention.
When you've decided
Open the class from your child's page on your dashboard and press Ask to withdraw.
