Who can see what about your child

Families ask this less often than they should, usually because they assume the answer is complicated. It shouldn't be.
The quick answer
- Other families in a class see your child's first name and last initial on the class's members list, unless the business hides the list.
- Teachers see what they need for the class they teach: names, contact details, attendance and the agreements you made.
- Notes a teacher writes are read by you, your child and the class's staff. Nobody else.
- You can see everything recorded about your child's classes.
The principle
An adult should see what they need to do their job with your child, and no more. That sounds obvious, and it rules out a lot of common arrangements.
Other families
On Befundo, a class's Members list shows who else is in it, so families can find each other and add each other as friends. Other families see your child's first name and last initial, for example "Maya R.", never a full name or an email address. Your own family and the instructor appear with full names.
A business can hide the list for any class. Then only the business and its instructors see it, and your family still sees its own children. That's the right choice for a class where a list of the other children isn't something to hand around.

The people teaching and running the class
The instructor sees who's in the room, their contact details, their attendance, and what each family agreed to, such as photos and collection.
The business sees registrations and, for the owner, payments. An instructor doesn't see payments, and sees nothing of your child's other classes.
You
You should be able to see everything recorded about your child, and on Befundo you can. Their Progress page gathers every class, its attendance and every teacher's notes.
Questions worth asking
- Who can read the notes written about my child?
- Is there a list of children's names that other families can see?
- What happens to all of this when we leave?
On Befundo: you, your child and the class's staff; yes, first name and last initial, unless the business hides it; and a finished class stays on your child's record.
